Formulated for the management of adult dogs with adverse food reactions. Its protein source is hydrolyzed salmon broken down into low molecular weight peptides (<10 kDa), designed to reduce the immune system's exposure to recognizable epitopes. It includes highly digestible carbohydrates with no prior exposure, gastrointestinal support with glutamine, sodium butyrate, and chicory inulin, and fatty acids with anti-inflammatory action (EPA+DHA). Designed for use as an elimination diet during 8–12 week diagnostic protocols and as long-term nutritional management.
Hydrolyzed salmon, tapioca, pregelatinized corn starch, poultry fat, beet pulp, calcium orthophosphate, cellulose, fish oil, natural hydrolyzed palatant, calcium, potassium chloride, sodium, chicory inulin, glutamine, methionine, mannan-oligosaccharides, threonine, L-valine, L-arginine, lysine, sodium butyrate, choline chloride, tryptophan, L-carnitine, vitamin A supplement, cholecalciferol, DL-alpha tocopherol acetate, sodium bisulfite menadione complex, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin, D-biotin, calcium pantothenate, folic acid, organic iron, organic manganese, organic selenium, organic copper, organic zinc, ethylenediamine dihydroiodide, Yucca schidigera extract, Scutellaria baicalensis, rosemary and tocopherols as preservatives.
Not recommended for pregnant or lactating females, or for growing puppies.
Dietary proteins can trigger adverse reactions in sensitized patients. Beef, dairy, chicken, and wheat are the most frequently associated.
Hydrolyzed salmon as a selected protein source to reduce exposure to potentially antigenic intact proteins. Tapioca and highly purified corn starch as highly digestible carbohydrate sources.
Impaired intestinal barrier function can increase the immune system's exposure to dietary antigens and contribute to the loss of oral tolerance.
Glutamine, butyrate, and inulin to support intestinal barrier integrity and function; EPA+DHA to modulate the inflammatory response; and zinc and biotin as essential nutrients for maintaining skin and coat integrity.
